ITANAGAR, Nov 4: The Bharatiya Janata Party, Arunachal Pradesh sought the intervention of the Governor of Arunachal Pradesh Jyoti Prasad Rajkhowa to hold back Nabam Tuki led Congress Govt. from taking major financial decisions claiming that the Govt. has been reduced to minority within Congress and the administration virtually collapsed.
The party in a release claimed that majority of the Congress MLAs are no more with the Govt. and they are not a part of the Govt. administration and have been outside the state since long time. The casual staff serving in various categories as Chowkidar, Peon, Dak Runner, Mali, Messenger, Computer Operator, Driver, Sweeper etc, for the past 23 years without getting their services regularized have been facing much hardship in maintaining their family with the meager income, the Union stated and sought early regularization of their jobs as well as creation of adequate group D posts under the department.
Training on hospital wastes management
ITANAGAR, Nov 4: To equip the medical officers and sanitary assistants with proper knowledge and information about biomedical waste management, management of hospital hygiene and infection, the Arunachal Pradesh State Health Society (APSHS) organized a two days residential training at State Training Center of NHM, Naharlagun on November 3 and 4.
While addressing the participants, NHM Mission Director PN Thungon gave emphasis on keeping the hospital premise neat and clean both indoor and outdoor, especially operation theatre, labour room and OPD where patients encounter with several types of infection.
Dr T Taku urged them to utilize the knowledge they have gained during the training for creating an infection free and hygienic environment in hospitals. The infection management and environment plan is an approach for managing, avoiding, reducing and controlling health and environment risk arising from healthcare facilities, he said, and informed that incineration machines will be set up in districts to burn the medical wastes.
Resources persons Dr Liniya Lollen, MD, Medical Superintendent General Hospital Aalo and Dr Mope Riba from Arunachal State Hospital briefed about the biomedical wastes and dwelt on need of biomedical waste management system in hospital.
They said that some wastes such as the contents of containers holding both sharps and pharmaceuticals are infectious and hazardous can have adverse impact on the environment and on public health. Both Dr. Lollen and Dr. Riba suggested that doctors should take the responsibility of infection management besides giving treatment to the patients.
ATA withdraws demands
ITANAGAR, Nov 4: The Arunachal Teachers' Association (ATA) has decided to withdraw its demand for immediate cancellation of TGT interview after it has learnt that the 50 % of the vacant post is kept by the department for promotion from PRT (AT) to TGT (JT) as per Recruitment Rule 2013.
Moreover, the demand for Amendment of TGT Recruitment Rule i.e. 100% vacant post of TGT (JT) must be distributed at the ratio of 50% for promotion from PRT (AT) to TGT (JT), 25% for regularization of SSA TGT (JT) and 25% for direct recruitment has been placed by the department for cabinet approval, the ATA said, and hoped the Govt. would address the same in the greater interest of teaching community.
Meanwhile, ATA thanked the Govt. of Arunachal Pradesh for approving appointment of senior most Joint Director of the Department to the vacant post of both the Director of Elementary & Secondary Education separately. ROING, Nov 4: In a coordination meeting with the Heads of Department in his office chamber today, Deputy Commissioner of Lower Dibang Valley Ravi Dhawan asked all the Heads of Work Departments to make the payment to the contractor/beneficiary by cheque only and not by cash. He also asked them to adhere to the provisions under the Arunachal Pradesh District Based Entrepreneurs & Professionals (Incentives, Development and Promotional) Act, 2015.
While informing that installation of High Security Registration Plate (HSRP) has been started by the District Transport Office, the Deputy Commissioner urged all the HoDs to get HSRP number plate for their departmental vehicles. ITANAGAR, Nov 4: Minister for Hydro Power Development Phurpa Tsering appealed to various departments working under hydro power sector to strive hard and apply their technical expertise to explore and develop hydro power potential of the state.

PPA comes to rescue of Governor
ITANAGAR, Nov 4: At a time when the Governor of Arunachal Pradesh is facing storm of protests from various quarters over his unpopular suggestion to Prime Minister on Greenfield Airport, the People's Party of Arunachal (PPA) has come to the rescue of the Governor.
Denouncing all those organizations, who have been 'unjustifiably' critical of the Governor for some or the other reasons, PPA President Kahfa Bengia in a party meeting today claimed that Late KAA Raja and JP Rajkhowa have so far been the most vocal and visionary Governors of Arunachal Pradesh.
"If you look at the history of all the Governors, who have served this tribal state right from the inception, Late KAA Raja and Rajkhowa have so far been the most vocal and visionary as far as taking this state towards the light of better civilization is concerned," the PPA president said.
Rajkhowa, besides coming from a successful bureaucratic background is an apolitical gentleman with a mission to help the common people of the state in doing away with the virus of corruption afflicting the state. He has been the only Governor so far who is very critical of the bad roads in the capital. The baseless criticisms on him have deeply hurt the conscience of the common public, he said.
Kahfa said that the unjustified criticism of the Governor for some or the other reasons is not healthy for the positive growth of the state.
"If these organizations are really concerned about the green field airport project, where were they in between the years 2008 to 2013 when the sudden plan to shift the project from Banderdewa to Hollongi suddenly brought the project to a full stop," the PPA questioned.
The Peoples Party of Arunachal appealed to those organizations to play the supportive role of state building rather than acting as 'obstacles'.

Arunachal Pradesh is one of the consumers of eri silk as Nyishi, Aka, Serdukpen,
Monpa, Adi and other communities in this region are known to wear eri clothes during
festivals and ritual events. Besides, fashionable modern dresses such as Gale and
Shawl prepared from eri silk are also used widely. The diversity in the topography
and climatic conditions of Arunachal Pradesh is favouring the growth of luxuriant
forests which are endowed with more than 12 species of silk producing insects including
the wild relatives of eri, muga and tasar silkworm. Though, rearing of eri silkworm
in Arunachal was an avocation in long back, this culture is scarcely practiced in
the region at present. Instead, people purchase their traditional clothes from other
states, mainly from Assam. Because, the wild relative of the eri silkworm also inhabit
in their natural habitat of Arunachal, it seems to have no problem in reviving the
age-
As eri silkworm and pupa are delicious food items which are also consumed in Arunachal as well as in many other parts of the country and the world, ericulture will also occupy a part of the food market. Moreover, castor seed oil is extracted from the food plant of eri silkworm. Therefore, ericulture will generate employment opportunity in handloom and textile sectors besides providing food item and castor seed oil.
Currently, in Arunachal Pradesh, cultivation of food plant of eri (castor and keseru) covers approximately 225 acres of land yielding 168000 kg of cocoon. It can fetch an amount of rupees around ten crore by selling cocoon at a rate of Rs. 600 per kg and an amount of rupees around 20 lakh by selling caterpillar at a rate of Rs. 100/kg.

SEC calls for 100 per cent coverage under APCMUHIS
ITANAGAR, Nov 4: The State Empowered Committee (SEC) has directed the concern department to ensure 100 per cent coverage under Arunachal Pradesh Chief Ministers Universal Health Insurance Scheme (APCMUHIS) for the coming year by involving panchayat leaders.
While reviewing the progress of APCMUHIS in its meeting at Chief Secretary's Conference Hall here today, the SEC further directed the department to carry out a study on the impact of this scheme on government hospitals and stressed on mass publicity of the CM's health insurance scheme.
As an initial step, a team of officials headed by Director of Health Services will be moving to Dibang Valley and Lower Dibang Valley district on Nov 6 for mop up enrolment as a part of first phase. It was decided to extend the benefits of the scheme to Chairpersons of municipalities/panchayat bodies. The SEC also appreciated achievement of being conferred "Skotch award" to the APCMUHIS as one of the top 3 best health schemes in India for year 2015.

ITANAGAR, Nov 4: In a major haul, Banderdewa DFO along with police seized 260 kg of Paris Polyphylla rhizome worth more than lakh of rupees from a Dimapur bound night bus yesterday.
The seized rhizomes of Paris Polyphylla were packed in five gunny bags and were suspected to have been transporting to some other places.

Why don’t we see the positive things happening around?
Dear Editor,
The observation made in your editorial “Development and Intolerance” (24th October, 2015) was relevant and therefore appreciable. It is an interesting fact that many of the writers, scientists and bigwigs from the film industry have either returned their awards or resigned from the respected positions they were holding. Obviously, being a common citizen of this country I am sad to see such developments around me. But what surprises me the most is the sincerity with which this Award Vapasi is taking place. Who are they opposing by returning their awards? Are they opposing the government or the people who have made their leaders to sit at the helm of affairs or the system of democracy itself ? Much hullaballoo is heard every day in news channels and newspapers. I have never heard of such a protest anywhere when the previous governments were ruling this country. Never had the voice of these protesters heard when the country suffered at the hands of its politicians and large number of scams and skirmishes had weakened its system. Where had these protesters been? Had there been no intolerance when this country was divided into India and Pakistan? If we were a tolerant nation, why did we divide the land? Are we not blindfolding ourselves? Being a common man of this country I am eager to know the news inputs from different parts of our country. But everyday what I see on the TV screen is nothing but countless news of rapes, robberies, murders and other crimes. Who can we blame for such individual incidents happening in a big country like India? An average man of this country never gets a news item which is good and motivating. Media persons go to the intricate pockets of the country to cover a small news item with less or no social impact and compete to telecast it with an added flavor of crime. Are we not responsible as we allow them to pollute our young minds with such criminalizing news items every day? Why don’t we protest against these channels?
India has always been a country known for its beauty of cultural variety. In fact that is our strength. Different religions and sects have always added to the beauty of its social system. Occasional incidents of intolerance can’t even be avoided in a small family. There had been so many incidents of intolerance even before Dadri. But who is benefited of the ballooning of such incidents? Both the majority and minority have been targeted in this country for political dividends. Why don’t we see the positive things happening around? Doesn’t matter which government is ruling us. I think, as a country we are habituated to enjoy negativity more and it’s going to be more terrible in the days to come. We need to learn to reject negativity and promote positivity. If not, the present school going generation will have no scope in this world of negation. History gives us enough evidences about religious intolerance. India had never been intolerant but we had been invaded by intolerant people. Instead of showing examples of intolerance among people, the media should focus on examples of tolerance and brotherhood among people of different religions and sects. At present, our country is the most peaceful one among the comity of nations. Therefore, it is the responsibility of each one of us to preserve tranquility among us. No religion is intolerant; people who follow the religion to fulfill their personal aspirations are becoming more and more intolerant. It is not only the duty of the governments but every citizen of this country must hold the baton of peace and brotherhood because we are a great nation and we are one. We should not forget it.
